What does the dio kai "for that reason precisely" say about Luke's idea
of the origin of the Son of God? Could Luke possibly have believed that
Jesus was not the Son of God because of his supernatural conception,
but actually the eternally begotten Son? Raymond Brown in his Birth of
the Messiah argues that this dio kai, with its insistence that it is
the conception which brings into being the Son of God, is an
embarrassment to orthodoxy. Is'nt this a very teling point?
