NIV translates the latter part of James 5:16 [polus ischuw deaysis dikaios energew]
as "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective" as opposed to NASB
which translates it "The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much"
Do you have any comments as to which brings out the original intention most clearly?
