I believe that you are exactly correct in your statement above. A friend
was attending a seminary (to remain nameless). In one of the classes, the
professor was discussing the last 12 of Mark 16, as to their authority,
authorship, and canonicity. He gave all the arguments for and against.
Then someone asked, what is your view? He denied the authority of
Mark 16:9-20 because of Mark 16:16 which states:
"He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who
has disbelieved shall be condemned."
He cited Sharp's rule on KAI which connects two equals in which he
said that Belief and (KAI) Baptism = Saved, and he didn't believe that
so he rejected that section of Scripture as being apart of the canon.
