I am a bit confused. Is it not thought that if Jesus was quoteing
Exodus 3:14 in John 8:58, that he was refering to the 'EGO EIMI' in the
Greek Septuagint which was thought to have been commonly used at the time ?

In this case he would have had to say 'EGO EIMI O WN', as in
'PRIN ABRAAM GENESQAI EGW EIMI O WN' or 'PRIN ABRAAM O WN'.

Also, thanks for the examples of puns. Do you have any puns in the
cannon where grammatical rules were broken in order to accomodate the pun ?
If your examples fit this criteria I am too ignorant at this point to tell :(
