The text printed in the Nestle-Aland27 at Mk 8:34 is EI TIS QELEI OPISW MO
AKOLUQEIN . . . One of the variant readings listed for this is ELQEIN
for AKOLUQEIN. Beside ELQEIN is the sign that indicates that this a change
from the 25th edition which preferred ELQEIN based on the strong
Alexandrian witnesses plus family 13. Also it is indicated that the
editors consider ELQEIN to be an assimilation to the parallel in Mt. 16:24.
AKOLUQEIN is has the strong witness of P45 C Q Fam. 1 and the majority
text. In this case the editors chose to go with the reading different from
the parallel.
