Vs 2:
Question: [A: parents or man sinned] hINA [B: man born blind]?
vs 3:
Answer: not [A: parents or man sinned]
and
[B: man born blind (implied)] hINA [C: works of God
could get disclosed in his life]
Not only does Jesus (as quoted) deny the premise, but Jesus also
reverses the sense of the hINA. I.e., the disciples are asking
what is the condition A such that B, but Jesus reverses the thinking
by stating B such that C.
I'm wondering what that means. If the fundamental question is
"Why B?" is this shift really an indication of a shift from
result to purpose?
