For a treatment of MALAKOI that is much more richly textured than one finds in
a lexicon, see John J. Winkler, THE CONSTRAINTS OF DESIRE: THE ANTHROPOLOGY OF
SEX AND GENDER IN ANCIENT GREECE (Routledge, 1990), esp. 45-70. The book is
well indexed.

I'd also recommend Plato's SYMPOSIUM. While homoeroticism is assumed (and
debated) there, there's also a fear of demonstrating subordination (softness)
through one's behavior.
