Flame-throwers kindly withdraw to a safe distance

By my calendar today is Friday the 6th; there's a week to go yet before we
reach the 13th, but I don't think we'd want a barrage of flame-throwers
like this then either. So would the flame-throwers PLEASE withdraw to a
safe distance--from this list, that is--and direct their fire toward some
off-list destination? What Bruce Metzger may have to say about the text of
a passage under discussion here is relevant right in this forum; what he
may have to say on any issues that are directed either in favor of or in
opposition to any faith-stance, whether or not we approve or disapprove, is
NOT relevant in this forum. The focus here is the Greek of the NT, and
anyone who wants to discuss the Greek of the NT should be welcome here.
