As a newcomer to the list, and as one who is just getting his feet wet in
Koine, I think that the two words in question must have been pronounced
differently. I was taught that there was a meter to the Greek language. If
this is true, wouldn't make sense that a variety of sounds existed to help in
this flow? Perhaps I do not know enough to ask the right questions, but does
anyone think meter has value in this discussion?
