As noted in my previous post, a more literal (accurate IMO) translation of
the Hebrew imperfects in Exodus 3:14 would ESOMAI HOS ESOMAI ("I will be
who/what I will be"), a translation which is found in Aquila and Theodotion.
This translation is more in line with the context, and, again, better
captures the far more common meaning of EHYEH. (compare EHYEH in Exod. 3:12).
