I don't want my response on this query to be taken wrongly. I wasn't
sure from the inquiry if he knew the basic genitive vs. accusative
meanings of DIA and wanted some clarification of how best to translate
DIA with the genitive when, e.g., "by" or "through" are equally probable
- or if he did not even know the basic meanings of DIA when used with
the accusative or genitive and hence needed that pointed out, something
which 1st-year Greek students usually learn early on. So if my response
sounded condescending, I apologize. I was just trying to cover both
bases.
