I won't try to speak for Carl, but I think that Aramaic should come
before Latin or German, as Aramaic is a bibical language and a useful
tool potentially for reading the NT, particularly the Gospels, even if
you allow, as I do, that a fair amount of Jesus' teaching may well have
been in Greek, as Porter suggests. Plus being able to read the Targums
could be helpful.

AfterthatI would learn Latin. However, my school doesn't see it
that way so I learned Germana French and still need to take a course in
Aramaic.
