I spelled out my rationale for why I do nouns first in the grammar, and I
never saw students not learning verbs well. Actually, just the reverse.
Because they were able to keep nouns and verbs separate a lot better, they
learned verbs better. I taught Greek every day, and we were through nouns in
4 weeks, so in reality there was very little delay before we actually were
into verbs.
In the second edition, out in 3 years or so I would think, I will probably
include two tracks, so if you really want to start verbs earlier you can.
