thanks, jim. do i have to say i'd have had no problem with fagete edwdima =
phagete edodima as 'cognate object'. surely none on here who've paid any
attention to anything i've said would think me so narrow as to insist only
fagete faghta = phagete phageta would be cognate. i referred, however, to what
i'd just seen in the romans 8,3 landmine and thot the 3 second mention might
induce a modicum of reflection to help the issue.
