Chuck,
If you notice in Rev 1:4, a greeting of grace and peace [ XARIS ... KAI EIRHNH]
are being delivered from [APO] three sources. The first is from the One who
is given the title 'APO hO WN KAI hO HN KAI hO ERXOMENOS' or "The One who is
and who was and who is to come", from the seven spirits [APO TWN hEPTA
PNEUMATWN], and from Jesus Christ [APO IHSOU XRISTOU].

In Rev 1:8 it is only the One with the title 'hO WN ...' who is given the
additional titles of 'TO ALFA KAI TO W' and 'hO PANTOKRATWR'.

Since Jesus Christ is being clearly differentiated in verse 4 as being
distinct from 'hO WN', in verse 8, 'hO WN' is Jesus Father, the Almighty God.

The title 'hO WN' may also be found in Exodus 3:14 in the Septuagint where
YHWH says 'EGW EIMI hO WN', or "I am the being".

At least that's how I see it.

Sincerely,
Larry Kruper
