David--

In the first place, the Episcopal BCP presents the "time of trial" version
of the prayer as an alternative in *all* the Rite II services (including
Morning and Evening Prayer), not just the Holy Eucharist.

In the second place, that's based on the ICET translation (International
Consultation on English Texts, I believe), not a published biblical
translation.

Third, if it *were* from the RSV, it would say "Temptation" (RSV Matt 6:13).

Though dichotomies are usually pernicious, one perhaps ought to avoid the
dichotomy of contrasting "consulting the evangelist's typical usage" with
"the original referent in Jesus' teaching" (what to we know about this that
we haven't learned from evangelists?).

Grace and peace,
