Rod, try the catalogue of the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. It appeared
in print form sometime in the 60s (maybe the 50s) and there are probably
suplements to it. And try the Britis Library (British Museum earlier)
printed catalogue of books.

A Major university library also ought to have the equivalent to Books in
Print for French titles.

Try those two.
