I agree with this.

Here is my understanding of ENDEIGMA THS DIKAIAS KRISEWS TOU QEOU EIS TO
KATAXIWQHNAI UMAS, to which I've added a few more clauses from the original
which I think are necessary to understand it:

ENDEIGMA [Which is] a sign
THS DIKAIAS KRISEWS TOU QEOU of the righteous judgement of God
EIS TO KATAXIWQHNAI UMAS in order that you may be worthy
THS BASILEIAS TOU QEOU of the kingdom of God
hUPER hHS KAI PASCETE for which you also suffer

As for EIS TO KATAXIWQHNAI, some translations seem to indicate that their
steadfastness and faith among the sufferings and persecution makes them
worthy, e.g. RSV "This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that
you may be made worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering".
Others seem to think that KATAXIWQHNAI means "may be counted worthy" in this
context.

BAGD comes down solidly on the side of "may be counted worthy", as does Louw
and Nida. Both lexicons say that the basic meaning of the verb is to be
considered worthy, not to be worthy.
