I recently did a presentation at the Scripture Institute (College
Misericordia, Dallas, Pa.) on using the Internet to buy "Bible Books at
Bargain Prices." Here are the website URLs that I put together, along
with e-mail addresses for those without web access who wish to order
catalogs:

I've found that the discount prices don't vary much among the companies,
though an occasional special sale can produce a significant difference.
The major issue seems to be selection: some companies specialize where
others have just a general selection. Keep in mind also that here in the
States, the shipping and handling costs frequently come to less than what
you would pay in sales tax if you bought the books locally.
Finally, many publishers, such as Hendrickson, offer substantial
discounts (50% with Hendrickson) to "qualified professors and teachers"
as well as "members of most academic societies" (I'm quoting from
Hendrickson's 96-97 Academic Catalog).
If anyone has other favorite sources, I'd be happy to hear of them,
off-list or on.
