Two other items:

Ralph W. Kllein, TEXTUAL CRITICISM OF THE OLD TESTAMENT: FROM THE
SEPTUAGINT TO QUMRAN. Fortress, 1974 .PP. 51-61 describes the basic MSS of
the LXX.

The Goettingen Septuagint, VETUS TESTAMENTUM GRAECUM AUCTORITATE SOCIETATIS
(ACADEMIAE) LITTERARUM GOETTINGENSIS EDITUM. various dates for many
volumes. Each volume has an intro deswcribing MSS evidence.

Also, read the intro to the Rahlfs SEPTUAGINTA.
