phonology and sociolinguistics of Greek

Greetings fellow B-Greekers:
I'm wondering if any of you might have suggestions for some
linguistics research I need to do for my doctoral program. (1)
Has anyone done a published study on the phonology of
(koine) Greek? (2) Is there anything published on the
sociolinguistics of Greek in the first century (perhaps in
relation to Hebrew and Aramaic)? Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.
