Chuck, Mary, and Edgar have all plugged Hansen and Quinn as an introduction
to Attic Greek. So do I; I can also support the JACT texts (CUP). We
have used both at Wellesley. The archives contain my comments a couple
of years ago about these texts, and also a notice about _From Alpha to
Omega_ by Anne H. Groton, Revised Edition plus corrections (important!),
published by Focus Information Group, Newburyport, MA. I haven't taught
this last, but it seems wonderfully designed and arranged, and the readings
are nothing less than marvelous--beginning with lots of Aesop's Fables,
then "adapted" passages from Plato, Aristotle, Demosthenes, even Thucydides
and (believe it not not) the Gospel of John.
