Friends,

I am pleased to say that I've had more requests for the draft of my
article on Matt. 4:1-11 than I expected to receive. I have tried to send
it out to every one who has asked for it. But I have undoubtedly
overlooked some requests, and in some cases I have had what I sent out
bounced back to me. In the light of this, and in anticipation that some
others on these lists who have not asked to see the article might yet
wish to do so, I'd like to note that the article is now posted online at
the Synoptic-L Website (thanks to the good graces of Mark Goodacre) and
can be accessed through the following URL:

http://www.bham.ac.uk/theology/synoptic-l/test.txt

To those who take the time to look it up there, please keep in mind that
the article as it stands is a *draft*. It is, I'm sure, rife with
infelicities of speech, typos, etc. And it lacks what I'd call an
over-arching conclusion, that is, something which states just what the
import of my study might be if valid.

And to those who wish to respond to it (and I hope you all do so wish),
please don't hold back with comments, even on matters of style,
grammar, etc. I welcome debate on any point, let alone additional
confirmatory evidence. I would also be grateful, assuming I *have* made
a plausible case, for suggestions on what you see the import of my study
(for Matthean theology, for themes of discipleship, etc) as being.

But most of all, I hope you find the piece of some worth. And I hope it
prompts some debate!

Yours,

Jeffrey Gibson
