the model of "Limited Good"

I am one of those who are fascinated by the models set forth by B.J.Malina
in his "The New Testament world: Insights from cultural anthropology
(1981). The model of "The Image of Limited Good", however, I do not find
very profitable. I am not convinced by the arguments set forth by its
"inventor" G.M.Foster in his articles of 1965 and 1972, nor by his
adherents (including Malinas book). Does anybody of you have any
suggestions here, including references to works discussing and/or applying
this model in recent NT studies?
