On the current questions about Jesus and Aramaic, see the very
controversial and deliberately provocative argument AGAINST Jesus' use of
Aramaic by Heinze O. Guenther, "The Sayings Gospel Q and the Quest for
Aramaic Sources:  Rethinking Christian Origins,"  SEMEIA 55(1992), 41-75. 
(I am not persuaded by Guenther, but his arguemnt does pose a saluatary
corrective to SOME fixation with Aramaic among SOME circles.)  Larry
