When we say "Matthew, like James, is rather early," is it really meant that
either the gospel or the letter is early enough not to be re-acting to Paul?
I know that there is no universal agreement on dating NT texts, but is there
any serious question about the priority of Pauline letters to all other
written documents in the NT?

It's dreadful, isn't it, that one question leads right on to another?!!!
