The most recent treatment of "love" that deals with the meanings of the word
group and the relevant theological issues is Leon Morris, "Testaments of Love"
(Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1979?)--not sure on date, but I think that's somewhere
near right.
 
It would also be worth reading Moises Silva's, "God, Language, and Scripture"
(Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 1989?) to get a good view of language and how word
studies ought to work, etc.
