My apologies if you thought it was not relevant. It seemed to me a good
indication that earlier on in the middle east they did indeed use stakes
for public display execution, and that the languages would have used a
word to convey that. Later the practice may have been modified, but, as
with the examples I gave, the words may have lagged behind.

I don't think I was trying to suggest that the Assyrians spoke Greek.
