Is anyone out there; John 1:1

I was wondering if this list was still active.
There was a time when messages where flying, but
I figure most (including myself) get very busy.

If anyone does read this, I have a question:

John 1:1 => In the beginning was the Word, and
the Word was with God,....

1. Why is the word order for the first phrase start
with "In the beginning" and not with "The Word"?

2. pros is translated as with, which I see as an
Acc. of Association. Could not that be translated
also as 'by means of God'.

2a. pros if it is seen as an Acc. of Association; could
it not also be seen as an Acc. Adverbial Ref (though I
am not sure how this would effect the translation.

Could I please receive some help on this one.

Thank you.
Wayne
