Word Order and Emphasis

     I've begun gathering research material for investigating emphasis
     relating to word order. The first reference I read was "Greek Word
     Order." The author stated that 'the farther the writer moved a word
     to the left in the sentence, the more emphasis it receives.' I found
     this overly simplistic although it has a kernel of truth.
     
     Is there any scholarly treatment of the subject of emphasis and greek
     word order that anyone can recommend?
