'Twould appear I am mistaken about the rarity of the subjunctive. And I made a rather scathing response to one whom I thought was poking fun at me with the academic stick (sorry about that... peace?). The rare one is the optative. I stand corrected.
But my question on the translation and meaning of "shall not perish" versus "should not perish" still remains.
