The perfect tense here need not be as crucial as first assumed. For
instance, Heth and Wenham (Jesus and Divorce, Nelson, 1984) make a
case for the idea that in v.25-28 Paul is addressing those who are bound
by a promise of marraige (ie engaged) and that these have not sinned if
they should marry. This reading takes "agamos" as referring to widowers
in this context (parallel with widows in 7:8, based on Fee"s interp. of that
section); "parthenon" as referring to those who are engaged (men,unless
noted, following J.K. Elliott). They also note the change of verb here as
different from those used with divorce in chapt 7.
