Isn't this purely and simply the older Attic usage of AUTOS as an intensive
pronoun = "yourselves"? To be sure, far more often in Koine AUTOS is simply
a third-person plural pronoun, but we do occasionally see the older strict
usage of AUTOS/AUTH/AUTO = Latin IPSE/IPSA/IPSUD.
