I have just been looking something up in NIDNTT (ed. C. Brown)
and I noticed that arrow symbols (-->) appear all the way
through the article and in fact all the way through most
articles. Does someone know what this symbol means? I have
checked the preface and appendixes etc but can't find any
keys that indicate its meaning.

cheers,
Andrew
