Thanks, Carl. Now I'll have to get into my Liddell & Scott to see
whether this is the Homeric form of OUDEIS/OUQEIS, or whether it is a
different word, OU + TIS. It gets a person wondering whether perhaps
there is a root connection between hEIS and TIS. It also makes me
wonder where there's a connection with the English name Otis.
Questions, questions, questions. Why does one always lead to at least
three more?
