Quails Tails

Just a bit of Greek humor that I thought to pass along. In class this
morning we happened to be doing readings from II Corinthians. We came
accross II Corinthians 10:11 with its use of "hoioi... toioutoi".
After discussing the translation of the verse one of the students
asked where the quails tails where. I responded, "What quails tails are you
talking about?" He then insisted that our Zerwick text referred to
this particular expression as being "quails tails" and he was
confused about it. He was very insistent and finally brought the
book forward to prove it. Upon closer examination we discovered that
Zerwick was quoting a Latin parallel to the greek expression:
"qales.... tales" ! :-)
