Colleagues:

        Jonathan Robie has just written:
"I think I'm going to drop out of the "ANQRWPOS in Jn2:25-3:1" thread at this
point. We've exchanged many messages on this topic, I think that I've said
what I have to say, and I don't think we are moving closer together on this,
so I think I'll just drop it."

Things have come to the point where I'll have to ask that we all drop it,
at least in the public forum of this List. Private discussions of course
may go on as long as individuals among us wish; but we are seeing no new
information pertaining to the Greek language or Greek text. And this
List is not the forum to discuss the "prevalent view of Scripture," or the
meaning of various tropes, or how formal logic applies to Scripture.

Attention has been called to the great lexicons; perhaps those who do not
utilize Liddell-Scott-Jones-McKenzie-Glare will do so now--it is a great
education on the meaning and usage of ANQRWPOS. Or it may be ignored. But
a number of appeals on the List to drop the endless repetition of points
have been matched by quite a few appeals to me to ask for a halt. So,
let's pursue the subject on our own.
