Sorry, I forgot to point out that the modern Greek translation seems to back up this very point where the translation of EISENEGKHIS is with the modern form of APOPIPTEIN - "to fall" - i.e. let us not fall in the time of trial. The pray is a petition for assistance when testing comes whatever the source - whether that testing be temptation from Satan or purification from God.
Also, doesn't this translation fit much better with the next petition - deliver us from the evil one? Let us not fall when he tempts us but instead deliver us from him.
