My understanding of the passage tells me that the force of intended result
of the infinitive is the one in view here.
Dana and Mantey say, "...There are three points of view from which result
may be expressed by the infinitive. It may represent actual result ... ;
it may represent conceived result, that which follows in the nature of the
case, or is assumed as a consequence ... ; it may represent intended
result, when the result is indicated as fulfilling a deliberate aim (Luke
20:20). The last-mentioned construction is a blending of purpose and
result."
I would find from the phrase, PAREKTOS LOGOU PORNEIAS, that the only reason
to be divorced from one's wife is to have an eye for another woman.
