I wonder, though: if St. Paul is contrasting PNEUMATI, as man's spirit in
which one worships God (whether the reading QEWi or QEOU be original), with EN
SARKI, why not *EN* PNEUMATI (as also KAUXWMENOI EN XRISTWi). As it stands, it
looks very much to me as though PNEUMATI is the dative complement of
LATREUONTES, whereas EN PNEUMATI would have been less ambiguous (or is this a
case of planned ambiguity?).
Just wondering out loud.
