        Cindy & Ward
Many apologies for the delay in getting back on this point.
While I still think that Jude's context indicates that the
v23 SARX quote from Zechariah draws back beyond that to the
historical context of intermarriage in Ezra, I think Cindy
has a point in linking the uses of SARX in v7-8 with Enoch
as well as the link to Sodom.

Why? Because although it is not referenced as a reading in NA27
the idea of SARX may be present behind Jude15 as well:

  Enoch1:9 (Gizeh) Jude15 (NA27)
POIHSAI KRISIN KATA PANTWN POIHSAI KRISIN KATA PANTWN
KAI APOLESAI PANTAS TOUS ASEBEIS KAI ELEGXAI [PASAN YUCHN]
KAI ELEGXAI PASAN *SARKA* [T.R.=PANTAS TOUS ASEIBEIS]
PERI PANTWN ERGWN THS ASEBEIAS PERI PANTWN [TWN] ERGWN THS ASEBEIAS
AUTWN hWN HSHBESAN... AUTWN hWN HSHBESAN...

Given this the YUCH in Jude15 might be a gloss on SARX?

(But that's a big might which assumes that both MSS can
be fixed with confidence, and that Jude wasn't working
from a Hebrew text with "nephesh" rather than "basar")
        Regards
        Steven
