Now that Carl is co-chair, I quit!
Actually, while I do need to unsubscribe for a while, I want to make
clear that the scrapes I've gotten into from time to time have
nothing to do with that decision. Heavy teaching load, the imminent
arrival of a newborn, and a late-summer teaching assignment overseas
on a topic which I have never yet taught combine to bump B-Greek off
the bottom of my priorities list for now.
It may seem to some that this post violates the Kantian Categorical
Imperative in that the list would be a mess if everyone did the same.
But the list has been a big enough part of my life for the past
couple of years that I'm going to risk the violation anyway and hope
I can be forgiven by those whom I may offend.
I've greatly appreciated the opportunity this list has provided for
me to listen in on some discussions that I'd have a hard time
connecting with otherwise, and I've greatly enjoyed and profited from
personal acquaintance with a good many list members. My main reason
for going ahead with this post is an overriding sense of obligation
to my B-Greek friends who may wonder down the road what happened to
Leedy and whether he got bent out of shape over something. Not bent
at all, just busy, and hoping to return in a few months, though at
the rate I've been posting lately, I may return without being noticed
for a good while anyway!
