This request seems to have gone unanswered. I don't at the moment have
access to a Greek text of the Apocrypha, so without the full context I'm
unwilling to make too much of a commitment. But you are quite correct to
point out that META with the genitive usually means with, among, what my
Greek teacher called Genitive of Accompaniment, I can't think of an
instance where I could translate "upon" but I haven't checked LSJ either.

Could you supply the whole verse in Greek-be better able to address your
question then.
