New syntax of Classical Greek

(after so many chatting about how much German you should know,)
Here is good news for everybody interested in Greek Syntax (I apologisefor
this note if the apparition of the book was commented before)

Guy L. Cooper III. after Krueger, Karl Wilhelm1998. "Attic Greek
prose Syntax." Michigan: The University of Michigan Press. (hc, 1875 pp.)

It is based on Krueger, Karl Wilhelm 1873. "Griechische Sprachlehre
fuer Schulen. Die attische Prosa. Zweiter teil: Syntax.", Berlin; but in
fact it is a new book, so many are the additions, and re-arrangement of the
material. This version includes (for the first time in Krueger's Syntax) a
complete index locorum. (Neither the cover of the book, nor the prologue
(repeated in each volume) makes any references to W. Poekel who worked the
last editions of Krueger's Syntax.)
Krueger's is one of the best Greek Syntax of Classical Greek
available (the other two being Kuehner-Gerth and Schwyzer-Debrunner).
Following Krueger's arrangement of the material (probably the best one,
from a pre-structural point of view), Cooper incorporates hundreds of new
examples, revises the old ones in accordance with new editions, and adds
many new paragraphs and commentaries to the existing ones, to write a book
that is several times the lenght of Krueger's work.
Written (as it is natural for an amplification of a work of 19
century) from a traditional conception of grammar, this book may fill the
gap in English speaking literature left by the unfinished Syntax of
Classical Greek of Gildersleeve.
Readers will find many news in comparison with Krueger's Syntax,
and not the minor is the sistematic inclusion of quotations from passages
of Attic poets in a book entitled "Attic Greek prose Syntax" (!).
If not for its typography, it contents are often a pleasure (and
almost an obligation) to read for every one interested in Greek syntax.
