Dear members,
In the paraphrase of John 5:21, Nonnos uses parallel construction, and I would
ask members to hazard a comment on the possible distinctions intended by the
following language:
V:80 (genete^s egeirei) Zo^gre^sas palinorson akineto^n demas andro^n
V:82 (huios egeirei) Zo^gre^sas phthimeno^n palinagreta so^mata pho^to^n
Is there a substantive difference between demas andron and somata photon?
Thands for the comments.
Regards,
Tony Prost
