My $ .02 worth--
I'd like to see something along the lines of what Edgar suggests, if a
little bit (and I mean "a *little* bit") more accomodating of the neophyte.

My hope in this regard is that the list be open enough for a bible college
student in the midst of paper research (or the non-technician pastor in the
midst of sermon research) to be able to ask questions (e.g., "What does Paul
mean (theologically, doctrinally) when he says God has 'blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places" (Eph 1.3)?" At the
same time, I wouldn't want the list to be open to the kind of
doctrinal/ideological/sectarian flame wars that sometimes result from open
forums.

The ability to discuss ongoing research back and forth would be a tremendous
plus. Would we adopt a footnote-less format for exchanging materials, or
would there be a website where things were published?
