It might be of some interest that the Hebrew word sometimes translated
"eternity" or "forever" = olam- is a word that merely means "horizon". That
is, something which is never reached or attained- for one never does get to
the end of the horizon as one walks along.
Thus, the Hebrew concept denotes neither length or expanse, but a goal left
unattained and therefore something to strive towards.
