I hesitate to say that it is altogether untenable; I will only say that, in
my judgment, the more natural way to say "began anointing Jesus' feet ..."
would be LABOUSA ... HLEIFEN -- i.e. it seems to me that the imperfect
would be used rather than the aorist if the intent were to underscore that
the action may not have been completed.
