One introductory text is:

Linguistics For Students of New Testament Greek: A Survey of Basic Concepts
and Applications, by David Alan Black, second edition (1995), Baker Books.

The last chapter (pages 170-198) deals with discourse analysis (also known
as text linguistics, a term which Dr. Black also uses).

The book is currently out of print, but I would guess it will be re-issued
due to its popularity. You can try an out-of-print order from amazon.com:

378833-6226020

The book is not listed on The U.K. or German websites of amazon.com.

There are several more advanced books dealing with New Testament discourse
analysis (text linguistics), published by Sheffield Academic Press,
available via their website:

http://www.shef-ac-press.co.uk/

The 2 books on discourse analsysis I have from Sheffield are:

Discourse Analysis and the New Testament: Aproaches and Results, edited by
Stanley E. Porter & Jeffrey T. Reed (1999).

Discourse Analysis and Other Topics in Biblical Greek, edited by Stanley E.
Porter and D.A. Carson (1995).

The third books in the Sheffield series which I have is:

Biblical Greek Language and Linguistics: Open Questions in Current Research,
edited by Stanley E. Porter and D.A. Carson (1993). This book deals with
levels of language below the level of discourse, such as the clause, verbal
aspect, etc.
