Daniel B. Wallace has devoted some 20 pages to the topic of the Granville
Sharp Rule and related constructions in his; Greek Grammar Beyond the
Basics (270-290). Two short but hopefully helpful quotes;
In defining the rule itself he says; "... in the TSKS construction, the
second noun refers to the same person mentioned with the first noun when:
(1) neither is impersonal;
(2) neither is plural;
(3) neither is a proper name." (pages 271-272)
"There are about 50 impersonal TSKS constructions in the NT.
Theoretically, such constructions can have the same semantic range as
plural personal [TSKS] constructions can have (i.e., distinct, overlapping,
first subset of second, second subset of first, and identical. However,
the "identical" category is quite rare, with only one clear example." (Page
286, on page 288 he identifies that example as Acts 1:25)
He also discusses 2 Thes 2:1 on page 290. Hope this helped.
